We have used different tablets and it just does the wash with the tablets still intact (not dissolved) even with the tablet door opened after the wash cycle is complete. Most of the dishes come out clean thought. Does anyone know what is wrong with my dishwasher? I have just bought the house and the integrated kitchen is new, not sure if the gurantee (if there is any) will be transferable.

Maybe the dispenser drawer is not opeing at the right time? You could try putting the tablet in the cutlery basket and see if it dissolves. Otherwise you can buy dishwasher liquid, so maybe give that a go instead.

Sounds like the dishwasher is not taking in enough water to dissolve the tablets. It could be one of those energy saving ones. Buy the liquid version instead. My dishwasher is exactly the same and I have to use liquids or I am left with a soggy wet tablet in one piece after the cycle.

Suggests maybe the hot water isn't getting into it - you know how washing powder doesn't really dissolve in cold - sounds like the same sort of thing.

Check hot and cold feed taps - maybe hot is off??

Must admit I sling my d/w tablets straight into the machine these days - never bother with the little door thing!

Does it feel hot when you open the door? it could be washing in cold and the tablet only dissolves in hot. I would get the thermostat checked out.

sounds like your using the wrong tablets, try a different pack and see how it goes.

*EDIT*

I just thourgh I would explain myself a bit more, the tablet will disolve in any water, the fact that it isn;t doing anything makes me think its still the tablet.
Other than that check the machine for blockages.

The dishwasher is probably old. It happened to mine. I now put the tablets in the cutlery dispenser and it does the job.

I always put the tab in the diswasher cutlery basket, I also add washing soda every now and then it helps remove grease and scale and is much cheaper than limescale removers!!

The water is either not hot enough or you need a water softner.
