How come not many people know about ArcGIS Explorer, as opposed to Keyhole?

Two reasons:

1 - Google is a marketing machine.

2 - For the average user, Google Earth is much better than ArcGIS (easier to use, etc).

Actually for me it was the exact opposite.
ArcGIS software came with mining lease information that I purchased whereas until now I had not heard of Keyhole, but then I am located in Australia.
