I think it's a really sad thing. I think the best thing to do is to continue to promote abstinence. Kids that age are WAY too young to understand sexuality and their bodies fully, and make stupid mistakes. If a teen that age is pregnant, unless they are a VERY mature 16, I feel the best option is to give the baby up for adoption. The drop out rates for teen parents are very high, which has led to a generation of welfare kids. These kids will likely grow up and be teen wefare parents themselves. The drug, alcohol, and crime rates are often higher in these lower classes as well. I just think it's setting up for a life of misery, and children should not engage in sexual activity until they're mature enough to deal with all the consequences.

I think they need to be educated better before they become pregnant at this age. I got pregnant at 17 and had him at 18 and there was so much I did not know however for that age range they need to be better educated about STDs AIDS and pregnancy so there wont be so many young teen parents.

They should have the kid and raise it. They made it so they should raise it right? I know a 15 year old that had a baby girl in 2005 that weighed 14lbs 10oz and she is raising it. I also have a friend that is 15 and is 5 months pregnant now. she plans to raise it. And my god sons mom was 16 when she had him and is raising it. Help from a parent is good but we the parents shouldn't raise a kid for them. I was 18 when i got pregnant and 19 when I had her and I love her to death but I planned a pregnancy.

I think that when your between the ages of 12-16 people need to wait and not have sex.
But if they do use PROTECTION,
such as a condom, spermicide or she takes the pill.
When your at this age, if you have a baby, most guys wouldn't support the girlfriend,
and when you have a kid you can't be a kid no more.
You would basically have no life, no teenage years, if you get knocked up.

The only thing good about it is they are still fairly young when kids get older. I don't recommend it though, but it happens often. They should be old enough to accept responsibility. which again is hard to determine sometimes. I've seen 25 and 30 year olds who can't take care of babies whereas I have seen 14 and 15 year olds take excellent care of theirs. so you never know these days.

I think teenage pregnancy is absolutely horrible. because its throwing half a teenage girls life away because babies and children are really difficult to take care of. but the pregnant teen can give the baby up for adoption but dont abort because abortion is wrong just plain wrong.

At that age, the best the teenager can do is sit down with their parent and listen.. if not with a councelor. It is sad, and scary, but you are never alone - remember that

I feel sorry for them as the pressure from friends are stronger then from a parent. They should teach kids better and have a school subject of sex education. It is quite sad.
