Lets say the G.M for the Spurs recieves a call from Kobe Bryant that he wants to join the SPURS . The G.M says yes on Kobe Bryant's request, and Poppavich disagrees and says no to Kobe's request. But the G.M insist that he will make everything possible to sign Kobe in a TRADE regardless of what Greg Poppavich thinks....

So now poppavich is forced with the decision to make a team around Kobe in a trade deal with the lakers.

As i asked earlier. How would you make this possible? Who would you let go? Who would you keep? Remember you are forced to keep bryant and trade someone and still be a CONTENDER in the LEAGUE!!

Possible Trades?

This is the second question like this you've posted. What makes you think Kobe makes the Spurs any better? You'd have to give up either Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli or Tim Duncan straight up. Duncan is out of the question, too good of a player and a leader to let go. Tim Duncan may not be flashy and average 30 points a game, but a player with a game like his is much more valued because there aren't many like him. He can score 20 or 30, get 10-15 rebounds, pass out of the double team, shut down the lane on defense and while being able to do all of that he is unselfish enough to let his teammates take over when necessary.

So what do you do now? Would you give up Ginboli and Parker for Bryant? C'mon man, Kobe Bryant is not that good. Check the stats: Manu and Tony combined shoot 50% from the feild and average 35 points per game. Why trade that for 32 points on 46% shooting? Your taking a step back! Your also trading two guys who think TEAM FIRST like Duncan. With Bryant you also get all the unecessary drama and bullsh*t baggage. TRADING FOR KOBE BRYANT WOULD RUIN THE SPURS!

So with that said, If I were Popovich, and I had no choice but to trade for this idiot, I'd resign on the spot.

Well, if I did not have a choice and I had to make this work, these are the players I would try to keep.

Tim Duncan (the cornerstone of the team period)

Bruce Bowen (they need him to shut down the opposing team's best player)

Robert Horry (they still need Mr. Clutch Shot Rob in the playoffs even if they have him riding the pine during regular season)

Everyone else is expendable because with Kobe, you don't really need Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili. Kobe does the work of both of these players combined. Parker will have the most trade value after winning the NBA finals MVP, followed by Gino. If I could trade these guys and maybe, land a J-Kidd, Billups, Garnett, Randolph, Rashard Lewis, or Jermaine O'Neal then it would give the Spurs a very potent nucleus that may be even more dominant than the current trio.

Kobe wouldn't call the Spurs, it would be the Lakers front office who would call about possible trades.

How to trade for Kobe and still stay in contention? Very probably not possible. To even consider trading him to a conference rival, the Lakers wouldn't consider a trade that didn't include Tim Duncan, or Ginoboli and Parker. Otherwise, no way such a deal happens. And realistically, neither organization would make such a deal.

I would agree this time with (F)akers. If I was Pop, I would step down if this trade pushes through. Pop is a team-oriented coach. He excelled coaching when Duncan went in the Spurs uniform simply because Tim is a very unselfish player. Pop's signature style is doing it by team effort. History is against Kobe here even if he is a great player he would never fit a system that balances the power between it's players. So the GM should choose here a dynasty or a kingdom falling down? I think it's dynasty.

Well it's in reality unworkable. The Spurs would never trade Parker. Parker & Ginobli = Kobe salary wise but it's just not happening.

Kobe & Turiaf & the no 40 pick for Manu, Bowen, Horry & Elson + the no 28 pick.

yeah, I'd quit too. If I was Pop, many teams would LOVE to have him. Heck, he's even got some connections in Seattle and would just go there. I would never want Kobe on my team if I was Pop and even if I wasn't Pop. Kobe is great, but as you can see, the Spurs don't need him to win a Championship.

If I am forced to keep Kobe and trade anyone on the
SPURs, then I will turn in my resignation as the coach
to the Owner, and not discuss it with the GM.

I don't want my team to have a cancer like Kobe.
They Owner can find another coach.

To answer your question as asked, I'd have to assume that GM RC Slocum's brain had fallen out of his head. But if it did, and he approached Pop with this deal (and this attitude), I'm pretty sure Pop would kick his @$$, then retire from coaching. Kobe is NOT coming to the Spurs.
