Menopause is a biological process your body goes through. The given age, when it starts etc. are only approximate numbers because every person's body works and ages differently. The whole process is a result of your genetic heritage, your life style, your diet, stress factor etc. etc.

So just because it's said that 37 is the age, when premenopause can start, doesn't mean your body will act according to that. And the fact that it doesn't happen, doesnt mean that menopause doesn't exist. You're drawing the wrong conclusions.

As long as you have your period you are able to reproduce. But women of a certain age should consult their doctors about getting pregnant to avoid any complicatons, NOT that there have to be any.

During menopause, there are some symptoms, which again you can have but don't have to. If some of these are discomforting, your doctor will offer you ways. So it's wise, to keep your appointments with your gynecologist ;-)

And menopause does mean that you aren't fertile anymore but it's not a sickness. You'll be able to enjoy life as you did, so myths like you don't have orgasms after menopause, or your body just deteriorates and it's a sleigh ride down the hill, are not true. There are even up-sides, you don't have to worry about getting pregnant accidentally ;-)

You just have to adapt and listen to your body, that's all...

At 39 chances are you can still have children but you would have to talk to a dr about that to find out if you could thru various testing of the hormones and such.

Yes, menopause really does exist and some women don't have a lot of symptoms when they go thru it. Some women do start having symptoms in their 30s and this has to do with Perimenopause and premenopausal states. It all depends on family history and other factors.

And for those that do have symptoms coming in to menopause wrinkles may not be an issue, same with cellulite (which can also be an issue for some with Diabetes).

Some do have problems with sexual intercourse but there are ways to deal with that both on the conventional medicine front and alternative fronts.

But please remember that not all women who go thru menopause will have all the same symptoms or notice any when they start to go thru it.

I would recommend talking to your gynecologist about this as well.

As far as references in the library please check out Dr. Susan Love's Hormone Book and also the books by Dr. Vilet (I've heard very good things about these books by other ladies who have read them).

well i am ten years younger than you and already going through the menopause. you have to remember that it is not a case that you go through it at a specific age, it can happen at any age to anyone

since i have started my orgasms have become more intense and as for being wet again, i think you have been readin to much info and hearing all the horror stories when you should be talking to your dr about this.

menopause is simply the body ending its reproductive life and you say you are having periods but a dr will tell you via a blood test if you are ovulating properly as even tho you have periods you may not be, and able to still have children

You are correct menopause is a big lie [IMHO]. There may be changes in your body over time but much of it is not due to age but due to the influence of environment, medication and what is missing from your food. Things build up in your body and unlike our ancient ancestors we no longer have the environment with rich foods and minerals that you need to replace what is gradually unbalancing thanks to big industry. Eat a lot of organic fruit and veggies raw if you can, get safe sun, watch sunset colors , basically dodge as much of modernism as you can. Sleep is really important but hard to do so you might need some mood music to help you sleep. I know this is not the acceptable answer but honestly the medical industry does not make money helping you stay well. I am 58 years old and take no meds for hormonal issues, all the meds you need are in what you eat and drink. Also mix a bit if high alkaline ph water in your day, it will sooth the stomach. "There aint no money in a cure"
