It may be his celebrity that helped him but may be not. How do we know the mother isn't a worse parent? The kids are 14 and 17 I believe. At that age courts take the kid's feelings into consideration. I thought we moved beyond the instant assumption that men are bad and women are good.

Firstly, there is no such thing as an ex-alcoholic.

Secondly, recovering alcoholics can, and often do, live happy, successful lives. One George W Bush is a recovering alcoholic...and like him or not, he's pretty successful.

Thirdly, we know nothing about his wife and how she is with the children, perhaps we should not be so arrogant as to assume that we know more than the children themselves and the judge who was presented with all the facts.

And finally, lets say he is still struggling with his fight against alcohol, I have no idea whether he is or isn't, but if it was your dad, would you walk away, or would you want to be there to try and help him? Not all alcoholics are violent, angry vagrants, I bet you know several and you're not even aware.

This kind of situation is always harder for the people on the outside than the alcoholic themselves, and even so the children expressed a wish to stay with him.

I hope you are never in that situation, sounds like you have little sympathy for people who are ill. Must be nice to be perfect.

just because he is a recovering alcoholic doesn't mean that he is not a fit person to look after his daughters, i am a recovering alcoholic and just one of thousands out there in fact it's millions which can effect anyone of us, as it does not choose who it will effect so watch out it could be you next!!!
It is an awful life one i would not wish on my worst enemy as it is pure hell and an disease, so come on please and give the man a chance, what sort of example are you setting by knocking something you do not understand!!!!

I'm guessing, but his ex may have been even worse.

Also, his daughters might have preferred to be with their dad.

And he may have hired better attorneys. Hard to say.

By the way, not all alcoholics are drunks. Some do recover.

His kids are teenagers and asked the courts to allow them to stay with their dad. It was the mother who was fighting for them to be removed because she hated him, that's all. The judge put the kids feelings first.

He got K.I.T.T. to hack the courts database and change the verdict, before K.I.T.T. turbo boosted his way into his Ex wifes back garden, get his childern safely in the car and turbo boosted his way out again, and then K.I.T.T. charmed the pants off of his wife.
Great car that.
