Hey guys,
I constantly have to use chemicals to cover the smell in my toilet. I don't like to use these as i have two kids under five and i don't like them inhaling the spray. So if any one could offer a cheap, do it yourself homemade refresher for the toliet, would be great. Also i have lime trees which hold to many limes to eat , so if any knows if they can be a refresher let me know that would be fantastic!

place a bowl of charcoal in your toilet. Make sure to cover the charcoal with a plastic mesh or place the bowl somewhere your kids would not be able to reach.

I prefer to use plastics. charcoal is widely use to absorb bad odors.

To make own air freshener using limes, here is how:

a tablespoon of baking soda
a tablespoon of lime juice
2 cups of water.

Mix all of these together to make a solution. Then put in a spritzer and spray all over the bathroom. Leave it there so it's handy whenever you need it.

You can double the recipe for more volume.

why don't you just clean the bowl and wipe it down with lysol wipes, It kills 99.99% of germs and that's more important then anything.. you have to disinfect things to keep them cleaning so they don't stink...
So use the lysol wipes and clean the bowl and put a clorox bleach tab that keeps the toliet clean and goes in the septic tank of the toliet and keep a air freshener like the glade scented fan one that you plug in and has a little light for the bathroom and don't use Limes to cover your odors that's not a smart idea.

Oranges are good, lime can be too. Orange peelings can absorb bad odor and since it has a good smell, it serves as freshener too. If you want to just remove odor, you may opt to use charcoal. (those 2 are even recommended for taking away fridge smell)

I do know that burning a match will remove unpleasant smells, and to be honest, probably wiping round with a lime would be nice. Why not try it - can't see it doing any harm!
