Hi, I'm 15 and I was recently put on Loestrin24Fe to help prevent ovarian cysts and to regulate irregular periods. But...a week or two after I started taking the pills my period came and it was a much darker color.I have been bleeding for over 15 days. I have never had one for 15 days. The longest one I've had would probably be around 10 days. Is this normal? What do you suggest I should do? Thanx for you help!

This bleeding that you are describing is called breakthrough bleeding (which can act a lot like a menstrual period but isn't) and is a common side effect when adjusting to the pill, but because of the length this has gone on I would recommend not only telling your mom but also your dr so that they can know what's going on and give you further instructions as to what to do next.
