Originally coming from Florida, I know a thing or two about cockroaches and mosquitos. Are they pretty rampant in Seattle as well. I ask mainly due to all of the rain and dampness.

here you only see roaches in places where people live in filth and even those ones are small compared to any ive seen, and i mean NASTY places , so id say they are pretty unusual to see here, mosquitoes on the other hand are everywhere especially near water/standing water

In a word, no. We have such a slight problem with cockroaches around the Seattle area. I have seen less cockroaches in Seattle than almost anywhere. It's kind of weird that you just don't even think about it here.

On mosquitos, they're not really a big problem at all either, but there's definitely your share of mosquitos waiting for you here. It's just going to depend on where you are hanging out (downtown vs. out at Marymoor Park) and whether you're hanging out outside in the evening for the prime mosquito targeting time. There's not too drastic a problem in the worst case and the mosquitos aren't nearly as large as some I've encountered, but you can expect a few bites.

I've lived in seattle area all of my live and dont even know what a roach is (does that answer it?) I have never been bitten by a mosquito either until i get out of the populated areas to the mountains or eastern WA which has quite a few if youre on a lake. Seattle wouldnt be a problem with them though!

I lived near Seattle in Bellevue for 25 years. I never saw a cockroach. Surprisingly, only a few mosquitoes considering I lived near a swamp. They are usually only around in the Spring and Summer. You can go outside on a summer night and only see a few at a time sometimes none. Nothing like Florida. I think most get depressed and kill themselves after 9 months without the sun.

I grew up in the Seattle area, and never saw roaches unless I went to the zoo. Mosquitos were never much of a problem. They do come out in the summer, but nothing like mosquitos I come across here in Colorado. Still, a little bug spray can be useful. The biggest pest I can remember were spiders. They mostly lived in the basement though.

Mosquitos part of the year are pretty heavy, specially if you tend to have standing water around. As for cockroaches, I never really noticed them. I lived in Seattle for 3 years. It's pretty typical just like anywhere else. I've seen more cockroaches in San Diego then I have in Seattle. Although, the farther south you go, the more slummy the places get. About Sea-Tac down through Tacoma to Olympia seemed to be...slummier then the north end unless you were in Everett. But, that's also co-existing with the crime. Enjoy Seattle!

I have lived just south of Seattle my whole life and although I have heard of roaches in the nastier places, like homes of the kinds of people who don't mind living in garbage and dog poo, I have never personally seen a roach in my life.
Mosquitoes are different. They can be thick at times, especially near the water.

Why are you leaving our beautiful city? We have some of the most beautiful land here, and the views are priceless!

My guess is that it would be about the same as Florida only cooler because it's in the northwest. Seattle area is beautiful too, but not like Denver...
