seriously, the movie comes out in 2 weeks & when I see the movie trailer it always says "This Film Is Not Yet Rated", & it says the same thing on the website, geeze, I don't think it's ever taken that long for a movie to be rated before

I should have put this before, or maybe it does take this long for a movie to be rated, I'm probably just too eager to see it, since i'm a die-hard Transformer fan

Well, that is becos the board couldnt decide whether to put the film as rated R or PG-13. I heard that it was put R but Spielberg encouraged them to drop the rating to PG-13. They're still considering the rating. This is maybe becos of Transformers's fast, high packed action and violence, bright lights, loud noises, scary faces of the Deceps and others that may scare little kids.

its all about building suspense. the same as ALL the sell out money making soulless films being released lately. drop the rating to get more people into the cinema. did it with terminator, did it with Leathal Weapon, did it with Die Hard, and they'll do the same here. Its a huge dissappointment really. bring back movies with heart. It could well be a great movie, but they just keep doing it, these hollyowood big wigs!
make the dame film 18 (R) and put extra violence and language in the film! make it a cult classic like terminator and all the first installments were for the greats! guaranteed there'll be a second and third, so set the bar high like the Matrix did! even they ruined it with the complete loss of plot half way through part 2...
make a classic dammit, like one flew over the cockoos nest, or Crash, or something that stirs emotion!
was that off the point?!
oh, yeah they do it cause the directors wants to leave in the violence and still get the kids in...

Films are usually edited up until just a week or two before they are due to be released in theaters. Also, some parts of the film may have to be cut out to meet a certain rating given by the MPAA. So since they are evolving so much it's difficult for them to be rated until a finished product is available. Hopefully Transformers will be PG-13...but it could go PG on us.

the movie has to be approved with a rating suitable for kids so they will want to buy the merchandize. The movie is one third of the gamble hasbro is taking this year buy pushing for a large production of, spider-man 3, fantastic four 2, and transformer toys. The whole transeforemers saga continues to this day for the sole pupose of selling a popular toy line. so as cool as it would be to see a michael bay R rated transformers i would be shocked if thats the route they took.

The rating just came in - it's gonna be PG-13. The ratings board initially gave it an R because of the intensity of it. Steven Spielberg helped Michael Bay appeal the rating, and it worked.

To give the movie an edge the young boys will hope it is an R rated film and that adrenaline will supposedly get them into the theater.
