Collecting change is a good idea, it adds up. I know you said "without any help" but if you or your parents don't object, they can put their extra change in a jar for you at the end of each night. I have co-workers who do that for their kids.

You could see if any of your neighbors have any little errands they can have you run. Or if you see any lawns with long grass, you can knock on the door and see if you can mow their lawn for them. When fall comes around, you can see if anyone needs to have their lawns raked.

I know it's a little embarrassing, but you can also collect cans and recycle them (they're like 5 cents a can now).

If you live in a busy neighborhood, you can sell lemonade (cause it's hot now and a nice cold drink would be good).

Good luck. I have the hardest time saving money now that I'm older.

You should be able to go to a bank and ask for a savings account. Make sure you check what fees are taken out because of your age you may get less taken out than an adult (so you'll save more)
In terms of general saving, have a few different 'buckets'. The first should be a portion of your money you're saving for future (like a schooling or a big overseas trip).
The second could be a few weeks off - say a bag you want to by that costs a bit more than you could just buy staright out.
The third is just for things week to week like canteen food or movie tickets, etc.
I used this theory when I was younger but the big bucket was in the bank (that I then didn't know how to access until I left home and had to find out!). I later made the second bucket in a separate bank account so I could shop online and buy things easier on overseas trips. The third bucket is now the money in my wallet.

Good luck saving!

Go to the library and read the book, "Rich Dad Poor Dad." It will tell you how you, as a kid, can look for opportunities to make money.

in order to gain something you have to sacrifice something. luk at those things which are of less importance and save your money from them and do not spend carelessly.
