i just bought two freshwater angelfish

and i just want to sex them.their body(not inclue fins) is bigger than a dollar coin a little.
sorry for the bad spelling and those aren't pics of them (i cant take picture of my fish cause they keep on swimming,)and these pics of the angel is almost look like them

Sexing angelfish is next to impossible except at the time they're about to spawn (which requires mature fish). The female gets a thicker spawning tube than the male. Some sources will say there's a difference in the shape of their foreheads, (male's is rounded, female's is straight), but this isn't an either-or characteristic. There's a range of shapes from one to the next (like trying to pinpoint the color where a blonde becomes a brunette). You might be able to judge the extremes of the range, but the intermediates will remain in doubt. That's why it's suggested to buy them in groups of around 6, and let the fish sort things out for themselves.

The answer lies in the angle formed by the meeting of the lower abdomen and the ventral fin. Plus careful observation. Experience with mature fish is the best chance for a accurate guess.

we actually had a pair of mating angels.... I could tell the male only by his markings they were black lace long fin angels, we just got lucky they are really hard to sex good luck..... we raised 150 baby angels from this pair from one pairing that was sooo fun if you have a pair they get really protective of a part of the tank again good luck

angels are really hard to sex -- they have "tubes" taht extend out when they are ready to mate -- before that its almost impossible to tell unless you are a fish guru. they always know.

My tip is to enter through the anus. They are a little tighter in the bun area.

you'll know they will spaw when they're around each other alot.
she's pregnant when you see her chubby.
