i agree DANNY A beltran should'nt be in the allstar game this year...if anything maybe a reserve i guess its b/c of his high paying salery as well as wearing a mets cap but hes been horrible this year so far

delgado has just started playing in the last few weeks. When he couldnt hit a lick the mets were winning. Now he is hitting and blah....... so dont blame it on him or put his name in there. Beltran has just totally stunk it up.....How is this guy the leading vote getter on the allstar ballots??? What bs. If alou was healthy beltran would be the third best outfielder on the mets little on in the league. I agree with you though, that the mets are the best in the n.l. and will be fine. Just wish fans and nyers wouldnt ruin the allstar game and things with the yankees and mets bs. Beltran doesnt deserve to be an allstar just because he dons a mets cap.

I'm just glad the tailspin is happening in June. Hopefully they'll get healthy and their rotation will come back before this gets out of control or drags into the allstar break.

You have to believe they're too good to implode over a slump, right?

while i do think the mets will be fine, it is crazy to say they are the best team in the NL. they are no beter than say the Dodgers or the Padres. the biggest concern about the mets is that they dont have one absolute lights out pitcher. the Dodgers have Penny, the Padres have Peavy... they need a guy like that to get through the playoffs... maybe they will be able to pull off a trade for someone like mark buhrle

I think it's now being proven that they are not as great as the Met fans where claiming them to be. But with that being said they will still have enough to be in the playoffs.

Be patient, when they get Pedro back, their pitching staff should get a little healthier. As for now, they are getting a lot of innings out of their bullpen, which seems to be the problem.
