I live in Mumbai, Maharshtra. I got good marks in my HSC exams but scored bad marks in MHT-CET. Due to which I'll get admission in a good college for B.Sc IT or B.Sc Computer Science, but, I'll get admission only in a b-grade or c-grade college for B.E (Computer engineering). I really wanted to be B.E. since a B.E. degree is better but I know that I'll get a bad college. So, which degree should I pursue. What should I do? Also,is it better to do B.Sc I.T. or B.Sc. Computer science? Which will help me get a better job? Should I do any side courses to get better jobs? If yes, then which ? Please guide me. thanks

BE From a bad college also scores over BSc. But at the same time dont stick to Computer Engineering onl;y. You can chose a better college with some branch other than Computer Engineering. Thesedays you can venture into software engineering at any point after graduation in Engineering. Your stream of engineering hardly matters.

Even if one does his BE from good engg college (except majors like IIT), he is not placed in a good company without written exams or an interview.....so always remember that college can have a good infra / faculty but student shall have the potential to get the best out of the college and make his professional life count....So if u think u have it , an engineering degree is always help u in making your way smooth in the professional market, far more than the B.Sc.... But at the same time if u think that waitin an extra year could fetch u good marks in CET and u will get a good college, why not wait for it.....afterall it is the matter of your career and do not take decision in haste....BEST OF LUCK...

Your degree marksheet will not have your college name. So is doesn't matter from which college you studied. Apart from that, once you are into a degree course do not expect that good college means good faculties and facilities. You have to reasearch and study everything by your own. If you always wanted to do a BE then go for it. You may have to struggle a little more hard to make notes if you get into a bad college, that's it. With a fulltime BE or BScIT, I do not think you need any other part time courses. These degrees are enough to get into the industry. Then you work for sometime, find out your area of interest for the future and then go for PG courses. I hope this helps.
