maybe not a punch or a slap but twisting arms, keeping you from laving, throeing you around,kicking, is that the same as hitting someone? and what if you have bruises on your arms? can that be considered abuse?

what can i do? is there a way to maybe give him a warning by the cops?

Depending on the severity and the jurisdiction, it can be charged as assault, assault and battery, or even kidnapping and assault. It is definitely abuse and you should call the cops if it is being done to you, or you should be arrested if you are doing it to someone else.

any type of unwanted and/or hurtful touch is a battery of one type or another. The "not letting you leave" part, at least in CA, would be called "False Imprisonment"... and is a hefty little charge.. also, if this person is someone you're intimate with, or living with, it's going to be one form or another of a Domestic Violence charge...

You need to call the police. It's important to get pictures of the bruising immediately afterwards and then again, a few days. later.

If this is you involved in your question, get the H3ll out! Or, call the police and file charges. Too many women fail to file charges, and the case has to be dropped - the bum gets off scott free! Don't be one of those awful statistics!!

Assault and battery. You can get a court restraining order and if he breaks it he is big trouble.
