When you are asked this question you should do more than express an interest in the position. You should give them good reasons, by way of examples, to prove that they should hire you. For example, if you say you are a good team player tell a story of how you worked effectively as team member in your previous employment. I hope this helps.
Peace and blessings!

Remember, the interview is not about what you want, it's about what you can do for the company. The correct answer would show your specific knowledge of the company, and use your specific experience as how it could benefit the company. For example:
I think you should hire me because with my many years of experience in marketing widgets. I know that Yourcompany is concentrating their efforts on widget production, and I believe that my marketing skills and experience in this field would be beneficial to us both.

You should reread the job description and use that as your answer. Don't just tell them you want to be a team player, you should also let them know that you are able to work independently as well.

That is too general. You need to tell them how you would be an asset to their company. Also, let them know what makes you unique.
