Great point. This flys over peoples heads alot. I am from Baltimore and I hate Redskins fans. They seem oblivious to the fact that they are cheering for a team named after a racial slur.

ever heard of the vikings moron? okay, the redskins is pretty damn racist, but the braves I think honors the warrior spirit in the native people, the seminals pays respect to the native people. unlike the pale faced honkeys, or white devils. and to the guy who said if they ever named a sports team after black people, he'd burn down the stadium : would the zulu's be offensive? naming your team after a great fighting force, a extremely skilled army, is that a bad thing?

I've been saying this for years. More Native Americans should protesting the names of these offensive teams. Speaking as a black man, we would have burned the stadium to the ground if they had even considered naming a team after us.

When "honkies" were naming sports teams, they chose names with references to Natives because of their "strength, speed and endurance." Racist, maybe ... but in a complimentary way and nothing worth whining about. How long have YOU been a racist?

I'm Creek Indian and Scott. It would not bother me to be called "The Creek Indians" or "the Scotts".
How about "The Caucasians". I like it. go Caucasians, go. go go Causasians, go, go.
