I highly doubt the US uses sonic weapons just to remove them from the battle field afterwards... The most likely go in after having used the weapon and then kill everyone who looks like an enemy while they are dazed.

Chemical weapons would have such an after effect that you would damage the land you conquer to the point that you would DAMAGE THE SPOILS. This would render the land inhabitable. Therefore not even from the point of just being in it for the victory would it be smart.

Chemical Warfare has been considered uncivilized because it is an indiscriminate killer, and if one includes biological agents, it is basically uncontrolable.

Thankfully, the United States has renounced the use of chemical weapons and has destroyed our stockpile. On the down side, any attack by chemical weapons from a recognized enemy can only be met by conventional means, or with nuclear weaponry. One is not very effective, and the other is overkill.

To the best of my knowledge, all or nearly all of the sonic and electromagnetic weapons systems are non-lethal. It is better to wound an enemy combatant than to kill him. If you wound or incapacitate an enemy, it will take at least two more to care for him or remove him from the area of operations.

Chemical warfare is OK on your own body fat ... diet pills.

Q: But what makes another person your enemy?
A: Just a difference of opinion for a short period of time.

After that, they will stay your enemy if you treated them inhumanly in battle. At some stage, we will all find ourselves in a position of a minority that the powerful majority wish to conquer / change. The way we treat each other then will determine how peaceful you can live after the battle is over.

There is no right or wrong in war tactics. The purpose of war is to eliminate your opponents. That being said, no means to achieve that objective should be viewed as "wrong". There are many different ways to do it, and some of these ways may have after effects on the land or the environment that should be taken into consideration. But, if it is the means necessary to achieve the objective (winning the war), then you must do what it takes to make sure your team wins, and not the other team.

theres' actually inter-nation laws which outlaw certain methods of warfare. anyone who defies them they are war criminals. WWI saw extensive use of chemicals and it left a deep impression on the European psyche.
Ironically Winston Churchill used ariel chemical weapons on the Kurds in the country that became Iraq in the 1920s.

Chemical & biological weapons are illegal world wide. It will be considered war crime if we ever use such weapons.
