To say I "disobey" is to say that I've agreed to obey. That is simply not the case.

My husband and I work together as a team toward the goals we are trying to achieve. If I say to him that I'd like to go to the movies with the girls from work, we make sure that he is available to babysit.

Same goes for him if he wants to go fishing.

It's not called obedience, it's called consideration.

The word "disobey" is your problem. We are not animals and have minds of our own. To use the word disobey makes it seem like you might treat your girlfriend or wife as though you are the one that can dictate what she can and cannot do. And that, is just 100% wrong.

I don't disobey, because I make my own decisions in my life, whether in a relationship or not. My significant other and I discuss things, we don't command or make rules. We might upset one another with things we do sometimes, but neither is in command of another in the relationship, no one rules the coop, no one is in charge. We are a team.

I am neither animal, child or subordinate and am not required to take orders. My boyfriend would never dream of ordering me around anyway, except perhaps, in the bedroom. My boyfriend treats me as an equal.

To rebel a bit. It is a rarity but it happens. He would come home and play video games and on his days off play video games I did not see why I should give up my time off to clean. As I said though it is a rarity.

This question implies there is a reason one would "obey" such people, and there is not. I am an individual with a full capacity to make my own decisions. If I am in a partnership relationship that is mature, then both partners would consult and have input to decisions that affected both, otherwise I make up my own mind.
