Emerie is pronounced the same as Emery, and that stemmed from Emery, so Baby Names has it as Emery. The meaning of the name Emery is Work Ruler.
For a girl it sounds a bit manly, but for a guy, too feminine. But it's neat.

An emery board is a type of nail file. Emerie is a cute name though. Maybe it's a good thing it's not on the name sites, then you'll have something original!

Emerie? How original!!!! I like it a lot.
And so what if it's not on babyname websites? As long as you like it.
No matter what it means, it's very unique.

Emery is indeed a boys name. I looked up emerie but it says it is not even a word and it directed me to the word emery which means a hard mineral.

I think it is adorable! But what's funny, is that I thought it sounded like a girls name, but all I could find was a boys name.
The boy's name Emery \e-me-ry\ is pronounced EM-er-ee. It is of Old German origin, and its meaning is "home strength". From Emmerich. May also possibly be derived from the Germanic name Amalrich, meaning "work ruler". Also a variant of Amory. First used as a given name in the 19th-century. Saint Emerus (eighth century) was a French saint.

In my 50,000 names book, it is German and means industrious leader. It's in the boys section. The only thing close for a girl is Emerald, Emery for short, which is French and means bright as a gemstone (original, right?)

It was my maiden name. That's funny. My first name is Sarah also. Anyway, Emerie means industrious or ruler in German.
