I just delievered my son 11 weeks ago , and on friday I started what I thought was going to be my first period, however by saturday I was losing so much bright red blood, I was filling a pad every 45 min. I went to the er and they did an exam, blood work and an ultrasound to discover I had thickening of the utetine wall.. the put me on hormon replacments, saying it was due to a hormone imbalance.. however today I am still bleeding alot more then normal.. I have done some research and found that my condition call lead to uterine cancer.. I am suppose to follow up with my gyno tomorrow .. I just cant stop worrying.. I know that what ever is going on is serious.. and I fell I would rather have a hysterectomy then to face the chance of cancer or hemorraging everytime I have my periode.. has anyone else every experinced this or have any advice any thing would help.. thanks -- the flow is bright red.. some little clots, and just pours out.. if I stand up is just squirts out like urine!

I did a little research and they said this happens as a result of either pregnancy or menopause related. The cancer is a result of the latter. Don't worry yourself... you may only need to take iron supplements due to anemia.

P.S. How did your doc appt go?

Take a deep breath. After a very difficult pregnancy and bleeding for a full 7 weeks after my son was born the same thing happened to me. Now it can take up to a year for your hormones to settle after giving birth. Remember you were pregnant for 9 months and it is going to take a while to get back to normal. What I am thinking and (I am not a doctor, I just have personal experience) is that they will probably put you on hormone therapy or birth control and maybe have a D & C and just watch you for your next few cycles.

Although this condition if constant like mine has been is a precurser to cancer you are not there yet.

My son is now 2 1/2 and I still have this problem off and on and am having a uterine biopsy soon and will have a hysterectomy if it comes back pre-cancer positive.

You are not there yet and need to take this one step at a time.

Well, I don't know anything about the thickening, but I can tell you that getting your first period after you have a baby is not what you know a period to be. I usually have very light periods, but my first one after the baby...O-M-G!!!!! I was soaking through the largest products on the market faster than I could take potty breaks! It freaked me out.
So, my point is this...you obviously have something more than the usual going on, but it is as scary as it is because your body is kinda relearning how to do this stuff. Worrying only worsens matters. Breathe deep, pray, and know that you have the strength to handle whatever life throws at you...you're a MOM!
