If she doesn't want you to shave, tell her to take you to do it with laser...that way it doesn't grow back!

Talk to your mom, but for goodness sake don't just go behind her back and do it anyway if she has told you that you can't. That's a fast way to lose her trust in you and you are trying to convince her that you are growing up so don't be immature.

The hair does NOT grow back in thicker, it's just a myth. If you didn't like waxing, you could also try to talk her into letting you use Nair or Veet. There are no blades involved with those and they last longer than shaving. There's also lotions that you can get that will make the hair seem thinner. Try Aveno Positively Smooth Moisturizing Lotion or Jergens Naturally Smooth Shave Minimizing Lotion .

Hair remover cream, electric shaver if she is worried about cutting your self. I tried plucking the hair out of my legs once that hurts! If the only way she will let you be hairless is to wax then do it and the pain will lessen or you will just get used to it. Also if the hair comes back thicker and you just shave it right off again then whats the problem. Shaving some hair or shaving lots of hair it's shaving either way. Your under arms get shaved and that does not come back thicker. I have shaved for almost 30 yrs and the hair is the same as ever. Heck I am getting thin on my head maybe we should all be like Brittney and shave our heads for thicker hair. lol

Oh ask about electrologist - permanent hair removal

MY daughter has mexican blood in her, her legs have dark black hair on them. She begged me to let her shave her legs so I finally agreed and she gets so frustrated because she has to shave almost everyday becasue the hair is growing back so fast extremely THICK. If you dont' have a problem shaving every other day or every day, I don't know why your mom would have a problem with it.

Try something like hair bleach by Andrea, or you can use a product like Nair, or Neat. This is normal, what's the big deal. It's all a part of distinguishing yourself from being a little girl. Don't worry, unless you mom is some type of Quaker, she'll lighten up. Mom's just get scared of that type of stuff. I think it's part of the 'Right of Passage' like getting you menstrual cycle.

show her this:
Mom please let her shave her legs. At thirteen she has adult type hair on her legs which makes it terribly embarrassing to wear shorts or skirts, or even for her ankles to show. There are very safe razors at any Walmart or drug store. This presents a real problem for your daughter. She is old enough to shave them on a regular basis so they won't look thicker.

If she already know you are embarassed and still will not let you shave, then I would just go ahead and shave anyways.
