MY mama sure didn't. i like the song alot. Jeannie C Riley made it a classic country hit. and it was written by the ol' story teller Tom T. Hall. I'm a big fan of his. so, anyway, NO. EDIT: i don't have any formal education, thus no funny story to tell but a few people on here have given me a laugh, and personally that feels better than anything.

I love that song, and though I didn't sock it to the PTA, I did sock it to a principal, years ago when one of my kids was in 8th grade. That was probably around 23 years ago.

I love that song..... My mom was in the PTA all throughout my grade school years but never had to deal with anything like the woman in that song..

OH YEA! When I was in 5th grade i was a loner and the stupid teach tried to fail me and make me repeat it just cause i was an outcast, wasn't my fault, and i was book smart too, so i don't know what the prob was in her eyes and my mom did not agree with her reasoning and LET HER HAVE IT VERBALLY AND ALMOST PHYSICAL TOO!..OH YEA I DID MOVE ON TO THE 6TH GRADE!

I dont think we even had a PTA where i went to school LOL. but if we did and there were reason to I'm sure she would have LOL
