I don't consider man to be an animal.
The smartest animal by far is the Chimpanzee.
The most intelligent in the birds is the African Grey Parrot.
In the ocean,of the invertebrates, the Octopus is astounding.
Insect world, it would be a tie among the ant, bee, wasp and hornet families.

Homo sapiens. You cant measure intelligence in any other animal. You can make assumptions based on behavior. But you have to relate that behavior to, yes you guess it, Homo sapiens.

Look up the word, anthropomorphism.
