No. Totally different and not same.
Joseon dynasty of Korea had been under tribunal relationship of China nearly 1000 years. They had their own letters(Hangeul), but when they make official document, they had to use Chinese characters instead. Because if not, China imposed harsh punishment and charge to Korean government.

Japan had been independent nation until the end of WW2. After GHQ's occupation which ended in 1952, Japan could start to rebuilt its nation. But in Korean peninsula, China and in some Asian countries, there were under martial law with military regime.

I mean, the history of Asia (what happened there, relations between each Asian nations and political administration) is totally different from the Europe.

Japan and Britain are both island nations, both have had an expansionist imperial history. Korea, however, is difficult to find comparison with a continental nation such as France juxtaposed to the island nation in question. China, maybe OK, but not Korea, a peninsular country sandwiched between two powerful neighbors Japan and China (and Russia on the north and the USA with lots of heavy influence in the region and in Korea itself). France has not experienced the "shrimp among whales" syndrome as Korea has.

England and France have had a long history of rivalry, as have Japan and Korea. But the roles of dominator and dominated are reversed between the two European countries and the two far-Eastern ones. The French invaded England in 1066 and dominated for over 100 years. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Conquest. (English has inherited almost 100,000 French words from that period, making it the language with the largest vocabulary even from centuries ago.

Korea, on the other hand, was dominated by Japan for 40 years from 1905 to 1945, and the Japanese occupation was brutal. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korea_under_Japanese_rule. There had been an earlier, destructive invasion from Japan in the 15th Century (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hideyoshi's_invasions_of_Korea.) The correlation does not work very well from a historical perspective, and seems more parallel if reversed.
