well you use the formula a^2 + b ^2 = c^2

sub it in.

(2.5)^2 + (1.5)^2 = c ^2
6.25+2.25 = c ^2
c^2 = 8.5
c = 2.91 ( 3 sf)

In a right triangle, the hypotenuse can be found using the formula a^2 + b^2 = c^2

2.5^2 + 1.5^2 = c^2

6.25 + 2.25 = c^2

8.5 = c^2

c = sqrt(8.5) = 2.91
