I am a woman, and can not honestly say that I am equal to men. I know that there are things that I can do that they cannot and visa-versa. We act, think and are built differently, and in my opinion will never be equal.

I beleive that, I laso believe we have different roles of equal importance. Traditionally my people are matrichal, and while to the outsider it appears as if men are running things, anyone with any knowledge knows the women have selected whom will call the shots and behind closed doors express their views in no uncertain terms. We have different gifts or talents and balance is in the middle not with one gender or another.

There is a difference between being equal and being the same. Men and women will never be that same and thats a good thing. But we can be equal. The problem with womens rights advocates for things like "equal pay" is that they dont realize they cant get the same pay for unequal work. They claim women get less on the dollar on average but then dont factor in the fact that women tend to work less hours, volunarily go into lower paying jobs and take more time off for family related issues. The work isnt the same yet they want the same pay. That isnt equality.

I don't want to be a man and I like the fact that as a woman I get the door opened for me and I get different treatment then a man might get. There are little niceties between men and women that dont need to suffer just because we have equality. Like and equal are not the same!

Created of equal value in the eyes of the Creator. Both have roles that are different, yet equally important. Men are generally stronger, yet are more geared to focusing on one task and excelling, while women are great multi-taskers, and more cautious. I am of Irish an Native American blood, and Paul Grass spoke true. Very few outsiders new that the most sophisticated Native Americans had a male Chief, but did not make major decisions without approval of the older women. Out of respect, this was not flaunted, and not to be mocked.

depends on what we are talking about.
physical stregth- most men are stronger naturally (a female body builder can do some damage to anyone)

intellegence- this is pretty equal.
language- women are better
math/science- men tend to be better (majority not all)

directions- mens minds respond to maps better, women respond to site recognition

maturity- women mature younger.

over all we are equal because we do well in the same amount of areas. if we were to give women a plus everytime they did something better than a man and give men a plus everytime they out performed women in a subject. we'd end up with the same number of pluses

As Einstein once stated" It is relative to the observer" meaning that depending from which vantage point you are looking from this is subjective to your present perspective. If one for instance is a man or a woman in the western culture, relative equality may appear to be the case, depending of course on what playing field you are referring to. How ever if one is from say a mid- eastern culture it would be certain that women are not of equal stature with in that society.Having said that one should note that the leading killer of women world wide is not disease or famine but rather abuse which would indicate that equality is not the case on a global scale.

Men and women have very different patterns of thinking, emotion and reasoning. This makes them different, but it doesn't make one superior over the other. So yes, though I recognize the differences, I do believe that they are on equal footing in the areas of intelligence and ability. If there is a common goal to be reached, it is likely that a man and a woman will take different paths to reach that goal, but they will both likely reach it in the end nonetheless.

Different but should be considered legally equal. Women are naturally better at some things while men are better at others.

No they are not truly equal. If they were their wouldn't be womens rights.
A man would not be fired for setting up a water cooler changing schedule that included women.
A woman wouldn't get away with saying things to a man, that if another man said he would knock him out.
Their would not be different physical requirements when going for certain types of jobs.
Ect, ect............

Men and Women are fundamentally different, I mean it's a fact of life But we're not so different that we should not have equal rights and opportunities for all, that is also a fact of life.
