When I'm doing sculpture I'm so focused I can't have any distractions, so, no music. I don't want to accidentally put my arms through the band saw, ya know?!

i in my view do not understand if there's a defined bridge between artists and musicians yet i'm particular that the effect of music seeps into an artist's works, ethical experience or unconsciously. i admire a super spectrum of music, from jazz to opera to rock to human beings to new music to classical and blues. i won't be able to communicate for different artists yet while i've got have been given purple Floyd or Beethoven or Leadbelly playing interior the history i'm particular the moods the music instruments impacts the top result for the paintings.

folk music is great - full of great images and stories for inspiration.

Otherwise, something that matches the piece I working on. From alt to rock to classical

I am currently working on a sculpture of a naked man with a hat on. It is based on the song origionally written by Randy Newman and the version sung by Joe Cocker. The song is "You Can Leave Your Hat On" It is an amusing piece and I have named him Joe, based on that artist and song.

It is still in progress, but you can see it on www.myspace.com/hope4love4peace

You know i have never thought of this but i beleive i have different music for different areas of art. When i draw i listen to Typo O Negitive or classical. When i paint it is usally Rage Agianst The Machine or Korn. Sculpting or more hands on things like it like Hendrix and the Rolling Stones. Strange how you never notice these things.

sorry when I sculpt I pay attention only to the material and the piece that I am working on.... that means that I have a quiet studio so the art gets my full undivided attention which I believe it deserves if it is going to be that best that I can do.
