Hi All...
I'm sending out an invitation to our daughters' birthday party to a same sex couple and their son. I am friends with mom A, only met mom B briefly, and have spent quite a bit of time with their son and wish to include the whole family. Moms have different last names and the son has mom A's last name. Thanks for the input!

Sarah

I would hyphenate the names and add family at the end.
For example, Mom A & Son's Last name is Smith, Mom B's Last name is Jones,
"The Smith-Jones Family"

I think that you shouldnt include the last names. It may make it a little less formal, but it will make it way less confusing. I would just put all three first names on the invitation, Im sure they wont mind at all. Good luck, and i hope this helps, Jes

For long term, living mutually, engaged or married couples, you place the two of their names. Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Doe Mr and Mrs. John Smith. for short term couples, you place the call of the customer it is hooked as much as you and then "and customer". This covers potential wreck united statesof short term couples. in case you do not decide for them to deliver some random man or woman, in the event that they do ensue to interrupt up between invitation time and the marriage, you are able to continuously handle those invitations as you may above and positioned the two names down. Mr. John Smith and customer. Ms. Jane Doe and customer. for super families, you are able to the two positioned the call of the customer related to you and "and kin" or you are able to in simple terms positioned "The Johnson kin." while you're having an inner and outer envelope, you are able to checklist the names of those invited on the indoors envelope, although that may not needed.

Mail out the invite to:
John Doe and parents
On the inside of the invitation say:
Jane & Jean, I hope you both can make it to my daughters party. We look forward to see the three of you there.

(Sorry, did a name change after post.)

Ok, lets say Mom A's name is Ann Smith, Mom B's name is Beth Simmons, & Mom A's son's name is Sam Smith. Address it like this

if their names are kaitlyn and amber and sons name is james put:

to kaitlyn,Amber&James family
or just put:
James' family so it sound better
that makes it so much easier then putting like :
Kaitlyn Straughter's family

because then it sounds like only kaitlyn and james are supposed to go and not amber
i had that same problem except they were different sex's they just didnt change their last name when they got married

Why not put all three of their names? Or "Mom A and family", or the "A" family.
