Acid Pro 6 supports WAV files (loops) but also accepts MIDI input.

Samples are easy to acc. Just record sounds and save as WAV files (import into Acid).

To connect a midi keyboard to a computer that has no midi connectors (midi connectors are included in higher-end sound cards), take a look at the MIDISPORT line of product from M-Audio. Connect MIDI in and out to the MIDISPORT and connect the MIDISPORT via USB cable to your computer. Remeber, MIDI is just a command set to turn certain sounds on and off. The MIDI sounds still have to be provided. PC sound has some basic set of MIDI sounds.

Uh... Acid Loops are WAV based, not MIDI based.
