Hello- i recovered from anorexia 5 years ago and ever since i hvea had many problems
( horrible PMS, IBS and a hard time losing weight) My question is after one recovers, does your metabolism permanantly not function as well? Can hypnosis or something else help return to normal. i eat compeltely healthy- macrobiotic and fish and I walk 4 hours a day, but for some reason I can never seem to lose the weight ever since my recovery- any onw who is knowledgeable on this? I have done lots of research but to not much avail.

You caused some long-term problems for your metabolism with the anorexia. Some of the problems (such as possible cardiac damage) will be with you for the rest of your life. Some of the other probles will fade over time. However, five years later...I'd sugeest a visit to your doctor for a referral to a specialist.
