I've been running vista flavors since rc1. I fired it onto a sempron I had in the office with a gig of ram...Once i got it settled it's been running fine. I don't care for it much (too much sizzle..not enough steak) but i have to be one step ahead of my clients so i can troubleshoot it. we'll all have to move up to it sooner or later if we want keep using windows. If i had my way though, i would wait until at least one major service pack comes out (preferably 2) but they'll come and soon i bet. with all the complaints i've been getting. God bless Bill Gates! and thanks to his buggy OS for buying me a BMW. wahoo!

Not for awhile.... the drivers are so new that performance suffers practically across the board when compared to Win XP. I'm heavily into gaming and have read many articles that show Vista is a terrible gaming platform with much slower performance than XP and some games still will not work until further patches come out. With office apps I hear the difference is not as pronounced, so I guess it depends alot on what your main uses of your PC are. I have no problems with XP what-so-ever and my system's been running great, so I see no need to spend the cash and time to upgrade now. Good luck!

Vista is like anything new, you have to get used to it. If your a fan of MS which I am not, Vista is the logical next step. I personally use Linux and have for many years, I've only used windows at work. My main motivation for staying with Linux is money, I prefer not to pay what Bill wants for his product.

Maybe in a year or so, after they have time to work out the bugs. My philosophy is that if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Great. Make sure you have AT LEAST 2GB of RAM before you install it, otherwise you will probably regret it.

You need to step up your RAM because it isnt very economic with your memory. but i would wait until SP1 comes out.
