Typically, girls start their period when they reach about 103 pounds... that can be anywhere from 10 years or younger to 14 or 15 years old. If your mom was 13 and your sisters were 12 or 13, you could probably expect yours around the same age.

~Did you know there is an age limit on Yahoo Answers? Anyhow, don't worry about your period, it'll start when it's ready and worrying about it won't slow it down. Girls are starting earlier now days.
I was 9 when I started, and I hated it. My daughter started when she was 11, and she wondered why she was in such a hurry to have it, she didn't like it.
Enjoy being carefree, instead of catching blood with pads and worrying about it leaking through your clothes, or on your bed.~

You never know when you might get it. Nobody does, really. You can kinda estimate by your mother's and sisters' ages, but your dad's side of the family could throw that off somewhat. Just have fun and don't waste your time worrying about it. You can't control when you get it. You may think Im an old nincompoop for saying this, but you are young and you are only young once. Live it up and don't worry about it til it happens.

Some people get their period as early as 8, and some people as late as 16. I myself got it when I was in fourth or fifth grade. Just because your mom started it when she was 13 doesn't mean that you will, it can be different. So, just be patient and be GRATEFUL that you don't have it now.

A few girls had it then but most of the people i knew it came in 7th and 8th grade. Everyones different though. You probably will when the rest of your family did unless you are out of shape because i hear they develop faster.

there isn't a set age limit for having your first period. I think I was in sixth grade when I got mine. maybe 11 or 12. we are all different and it happens whenver your body is ready for it.

Depression (they are going through puberty and will experiences a lot of emotional changes) Boys (most of them are getting first "boyfriends" at that age) These are basically the two main things I would concentrate on. -Catherine
