I put all 10 in at once and he chaces them around eating one every now and then. In about 24-30 hours there all gone.

How many guppys and/or ghost shrimp = 1 feeding time?

Not as long as that's not a daily thing. Once or twice a week would be fine as long as he gets a good staple food on the other days.

A dozen once a week or so is just fine. Make sure he eats pellets for his other feedings, though. If he starts refusing the pellets, stop the live feeds for awhile to get him back on track. When he gets a couple of inches bigger, switch from guppies to feeder goldfish. Do not use feeder minnows, though, as they carry many diseases that can be transmitted to Oscars.

It depends on how large your Oscar is. I had 2 in a 55 gallon tank. I fed them about a dozen gold fish a day. They were the feeder gold fish. I also fed them other fish things. They were like treats & I can't remember what it was now. That was a long time ago.

Mine always ate until they were all gone, no matter how many I put in the tank. Give a call where you purchased him/her & ask them. Mine used to come up to the top of the tank to greet me when I arrived home. They were cute guys.......
