will cash registers show you how much money to give back to a costumer or do I have to add it up myself??

Some of them do but basic math is important. It will improve with time.

-Yes, the feature is called Amount Tendered. I have never seen a cash register that did not do this. The way it works is by first entering your amounts into the cash register departments, or scanning the upc. When all of the items have been entered there is almost always a button labeled Subtotal. Press that Subtotal button to display the total amount of sale with tax. Now enter the amount the customer has given you (tendered) and press the Cash key often called a tender key, or CA-AT key. That depends upon the cash register. Most of them today do show the amount of change to give back.

They will show you, the new ones do anyway. But as any machine they might malfunction. And you should try and double check whenever you can. it will help improve your math and you might not short or over change your customers :D

it will tell you, but sometimes it's wrong. it's better to do it urself so you know for sure.
