My dem sen is pushing this hard, being a newbie I think he views this as a way to get a head on the control issue, the repub is voting NO, and my house rep is Tancredo.

It has to go to the house if it passes the senate, and I am betting the lunatics in that asylum are going to say NO.

Are they giving odds in Vegas yet? Anyone know the line?

My dem sen told me in an email that he completely understands my opposition but he is going to do what he believes is right for America, and in other words quit calling, writing and emailing.

I have news for him, the communication level currently given to him is going to be focused on having him removed at the next election for this very action. Bye bye

I do contact my Representatives and Senators at least by email and letter at least once a week,Sometimes two.I know their addresses by heart.
But don't sign a petition on line.it is not received as legal on line and it is thrown in the trash. They have to be hand signed with address to be taken as legal.

I don't like the bill, but it won't ruin the USA.
I like the idea of a compromise for illegals who have paid taxes, not broken the law, worked hard, and if they were legal would be considered 'good citizens'

I also like that some people are starting to realize how bad we treat people trying to come here legally.

OK. What do you suggest? Do nothing and let in another 10 or 20 million. We'll go broke caring for all these people. They come here for the free benefits. I do not like the bill either. OK, lets tell them to try the Bill ORielly plan, it does make sense and isn't 80 pages long. We have to do something. Peace

Thanks! I send emails out daily, I also fax and send snail mail. We can not let our guards down.

jev, any time you email your representatives, you'll prompted to supply your name and address. Frequently they'll respond back to you through snail mail. That has happened often in the past for me when I've contacted them for other reasons.

Done. Why can't you talk to your Dad, he is the one hell-bent on seeing this bill passed. I agree with what citizenjane said in one of her questions, Bush must be a lobbyist for La Razza.

I've already e-mailed your "dad" as well as my senators and congressman and told him I didn't like what they were doing.

I love email. I've contacted my elected officials at least 1000 times in the past 8 years via email. I'm sure I'm on somebody's wacko list.

Save the U.S by getting rid of the 2 major parties and their corporate and dominionist supporters. Otherwise you're just throwing bandaids at the immigration sitution and the other issues that are just as important to this country and our people.
