It does not matter, you have to have the love for the game, not the height.

I dont know if your over 6"6" or if your under 6' . Dont beleive the hype about size doesnt matter , it does . There arent ever gonna be any 6'ft centers in the NBA so your height right off the bat dictates what position yoiu play. The smaller you are the better skills you need to have. Coaches cant teach height at it is a valuable weopon to have naturally. If you are 6'6" or better basketball could be a very good game for you. If you are over 6"10 " and can walk and chew gum at the same time you can get a DIv 1 scholarship simpl;y bc the coaches think they can COACH YOU UP" there are a lot of sorry seven footers i nthe NBA that get paid with weak skills just look at those 6ft 10 ers that play with Lebron James.

I don't think height should have anything to do with you considering basketball seriously. If you love the game and want to play it for a career, go work for it. Being tall is definitely a help. For instance, if you are over 7 feet tall and have even moderate skill then some teams will be willing to take a chance on picking you and teaching you as you go along. One thing is certain, you can't teach height.
That being said, Earl Boykins has had a long and fairly successful NBA career and he is only 5'5". While its true that a shorter person needs more skill to get looked at, it doesn't mean it is impossible.

Height is not the issue. It's about whether you have the talent and are willing to work constantly to improve your game. Short guys like Mugsy Bogues 5-3, Earl Boykins 5-5, and Spud Webb 5-7 have all made it to the NBA.

you should consider it seriously if your five ten, do you think that allen iverson is over 6 foot as listed. I got news for you, I have met him SEVERAL times and hes five ten at best iam 5'8 and he was almost my height, pursue at any height, some of the best have been small guys come on cousy, archibald, bogues, webb man theres oldschool guys and new school guys that are ridiculous, heights not an issue unless your judging the slam dunk contest.

Skill is more important than height, but if you are at least 7' tall, you should consider it.

you should pursue playing basketball seriously when its what you want to do. many serious players are not very tall, see spud webb, earl boykins, and nate robinson. if you really want to play basketball, go for it and good luck.

If you got the skill, you can be 5'6 and still consider it seriously.
