Her last album tanked and I lost all respect for her after the "Nipplegate" scandal. Should she retire? Was JD right for quitting his post at Island-Def Jam records when her album bombed? Is she still relevant?

Sakura-you are right. But Justin Timberlake's career is huge and hers isn't which isn't right. He distanced himself from her! His career should have been messed up too! Coward!

Sorry but Janet Jackson's career will never be over. Sure that whole thing with the Superbowl was bad, but I think it was blown out of proportion. She made a mistake..she said it was an accident I think people should get over it. But her last album tanked because the singles were garbage. I love it when artists grow and talk about new things, but her songs just seemed a bit pointless, maybe she should go back to making songs with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis..because Jermaine being on the songs just really annoys me..he is a good producer and song writer...but those two have no musical chemistry.

So far, the only "survivor" diva of the 80s is Madonna, who I should say, very consistent in her career path by keeping in healthy good shape and continuous making great music. No one could have guess she can go this far compare to the others.
Janet put on weight when she wasn't releasing any album and then work hard to reduce it when new releasing. She just release album for the sake of getting $$$ instead of her loving in music.
Whitney Houston made the wrong choice of husband and lifestyle. Still find that she's the real diva of all.

Janet Jackson is still somewhat relevant. She will probably be mentioned in conversations about music for years to come. BUT I do think that maybe her audience has gone away. I do think that maybe she should retire. I don't think JD was right for quitting his post as far as making music. But if he did it because he loves her than to each it's own I guess. Or maybe she might pull a Mariah and come out on top over her slump. Who knows. =)

I think she's still a big star and that some of her music is good. She is in great shape and looks sensational. But Not sure if she is going to put out any music that is top10 on the billboard charts. She needs to come out with something big to put herself at the top like she used to be. She will always be famous, and I always think of her as the most "normal" Jackson, even though I'm not sure that is a compliment

It sure "lOOks" that way. I think that she is getting on with her life and trying to raise a family. I think that there is still some pop left in her but she has to do what is right for herself.

I think so. She seems to have used up all her creative juices. She hasn't put out a decent album in years.
