Did you hear about the ESPN poll regarding the Spurs dynasty?

SportsNation asked the whole country, "With 4 titles in 9 years, do you consider the San Antonio Spurs a dynasty?"
Of 219,924 people who answered, 62% said yes; 38% said no. 49 states voted with the majority; only Arizona voted no.

The Spurs ARE a dynasty. Have you seen how many championships they have won?

I think the SUNs fans were all sleeping from the finals, and
did not answer the pollsters calling. So its not true...LOL

I would say this, Dynasty means you have the same
set of player or the core anyways and you win many
titles with those players. Duncan is the only player
on the team that has been there from the beginning,
they have not won back to back like Detroit which I
did not consider a dynasty. And they have not
3 peated like the Lakers with Shaq, or Bulls with
Jordan. I think SHAQ/Kobe Lakers, Jordan/Pippen Bulls, and
Magic/Kareem Lakers are the only dynasties I have seen
because those are the only team you knew you were
going to lose to the following year.
SPURs don't create the same fear, you can beat them
because they are not Dominating as Shaq/Kobe,
Kareem/Magic, Jordan/Pippen.
Bird/Parish/McHale, Isiah/Rodman/Dumars/Lamber,
Hakeem/Smith/Ellie also won titles and were good but
I don't consider them dynasties. No disrespect, its just
you can't lower the standard.

How can the SPURs be a dynasty in the 9 years when
Kobe/SHAQ won 3 titles in a row?

thats a problem if you want to be know as the best,
when some other team wins 3 in a row in the era you
are considered the best..

Im torn on if they are a dynasty or not, they have 4 in 9 years, but the team has been different with the exception of Duncan. How can you be a dynasty and have another team 3-peat in the midst of your run? To me a dynasty is a team that wins a few in a row. The Shaq/Kobe lakers, Jordans Bulls, the 60's Celtics, the Magic Lakers. Thoser teams were true dynastys. Duncans Spurs are trully a great team and Duncan should now go down as one of the best ever, but I dont think they can be called a dynasty without winning at least 2 back to back.

That's too funny. I don't really see what the big deal is either way. 4 titles in nine years and maybe 5 in ten (hopefully) is awesome no matter what way you slice it. I live in San Antonio and am a Spurs fan and I kind of could care less if they call them a dynasty or not, or even if they call them boring or even dirty. They are not dirty, but I do agree Bruce is questionable from time to time. Anyhow, a Championship is a Championship. IN ten years when the record books are looked at, people will just see the four (or more) wins and say, "man, that was a great team". There will be no BS about dirty players or about the suspensions. In all reality it matter not anyhow. The rules were broken. Also, they had an advantage when they had their full team and we were missing Horry and they STILL couldn't win. So, congrats to the Spurs and I'm looking forward to next year. It's going to be a great year for many teams!

I don't consider them a dynasty. They have been a very good team for several years, but they haven't been really dominated. They haven't won two in a row. They haven't had the best record in the league. They haven't faced solid competition in the finals except for the Pistons.

They are probably the most complete team the past several years. But just the fact that people are questioning if they are a dynasty kind of indicates they are not.

I just want the Suns to have 1 freaking championship before Nash retires. But I can't deny that the Spurs are where it's at right now.

I dont like the spurs, I dont like watching them, their style of basketball is slow and boring. They do however have some of the best main and role players in the league and have managed their team proficiently to keep it that way, I dont like seeing them win but I do like their talent, they are a dynasty. I do like the suns too though they just cant win, but yeah San Antonio is a dynasty.

I'm a Spurs fan but for me, it will take them a few years or championships before they were called a dynasty. Still, they are the best team now. GO SPURS GO!!!
