What's Tacky??

This is a dumb question, I know. But what does it mean?

Something someone without good social knowledge and good manners would wear or do.

Something in the styles some women wear can look cheap, overdone, or poorly put together, and is said to be tacky. For example, wearing anklets with high heels, or a skirt with the hem coming out, or even wearing too much makeup or jewelry can all look tacky.

Not in good taste. For instance, I saw a woman yesterday walking along the riverfront. She was wearing a mini skirt (which looked good) and flip flops (which were good) but she had leg warmers from the 80's on!!!! That was very tacky. I don't know, maybe this is popular somewhere else? The leg warmers ruined her whole look.

Here's the meaning of tacky... perceived of as vulgar, lacking in taste, or no longer fashionable appearing to be cheaply made or in need of repair. No question is dumb..... :P
