the car: 1994 Mitsubishi Diamante LS

the problem: when the door locks are unlocked through the alarm remote, unlock switch, key unlock, driver and passenger, they immediately relock.

the car did have a prestige/audiovox alarm that locked the doors when the alarm recieved ignition.

the car did have a bad key cylinder that has now been replaced. i was told this was the problem. this did not fix it.
i then ripped out the alarm thinking that it might have been that. this didnt fix it either.

the problem started about 6 months ago. the alarm was in the car for about 1 year before the problem began.

now the car has a new key cylinder and no alarm. but it still relocks when i unlock with the key or the switch in the driver or passenger side.

any ideas on what this problem can be????
thanks in advance

Watch the lock movement in the doors and if they appear to move full stroke then check the trunk lock actuator. If the lock signal is sent back from a non moving actuator the doors will think it needs to lock. And you can find the culprit by disconnecting the lock actuator one at a time. Then check if the lock rod is not jambed up on a speaker magnet or something else preventing un lock, lock movement

look in the direction of the hinges onthe 2002 and you will see a button. with in simple terms the single door open press it if the gentle acts ok pass to the subsequent door then the subsequent. it may take a little time yet those switches paintings in any different case, once you open the door the circuit is grounded thus turning on the gentle etc. sounds like there's a frayed cord going to floor. you basically have the exciting of looking out which one. Then once you do. you pull off the kick panels or column to bare the wiring. it may be as ordinary as a undesirable swap which i'm guessing it particularly is, drivers door, it particularly is not breaking the touch or the cord has come off the swap..
