Listen to your dad. He knows what he's talking about. Puberty happens to every boy and girl at varying ages. Some just start puberty earlier than others. I know one girl in my daughter's class who entered puberty at 9. Some people are early bloomers, some average, and some are late bloomers. Everyone is different.
Our bodies are constantly changing from the day we are born until the day we die. Puberty is the period of time when children begin to mature biologically, psychologically, socially and cognitively. Girls start to grow into women and boys into men.
This process can take a year or even six years. This time period is when a child's body takes on those characteristics that define it sexually. Both males and females bodies will each take on a different shape. Keep in mind that everyone matures at their own pace, but that eventually we all catch up. Puberty leads to adolescence.

Puberty is when your sexual organs develop and become usable. You might notice that your little man grows a little bit larger, your shoulders will broaden and you will start to look less like a boy and more like a man. You might wake up at night to find a white, pasty fluid on your bed. This is called semen, and it's perfectly normal for someone your age going into puberty.
You'll learn a lot more about it later on, but that's the general idea of it.

Puberty is nothing to be scared or confused about...every boy (everybody for that matter) goes through changes, just not at the exact same time. You will notice hair will start to grow around your personal areas, your armpits, and your legs, chest, etc. You will notice your voice get lower, your underarms will start to sweat, or smell, in which case you'll need deodorant. this is perfectly normal. Most guys and girls around the middle school/jr high age wear deodorant. its fast and easy....just put it on in the morning. showering will be very important during this time as well, especially in those "personal areas", and also your underarms.
Don't be confused about anything. Everybody goes through these changes...hair growth, smell...etc etc..
Anymore questions just ask.

Puberty is the chemical and physical changes that happen too your body changing you into a man. you will get taller, stronger, thicker, body hair in your personal ares, arm pits chest, face. You personal area will also get longer and thicker, your voice will get deeper. Your thoughts will start too think about sex and girls (boys for a while too).
That should hold you over till you learn in school or your dad should give you move info just ask him.

If you talked to your dad about it this much then go back to your dad and ask him to explain it to you in more detail if he won't then e-mail me and I will try to explain it in as appropiate and easy to understand way as possible but first talk more to your dad it appears you two have a good start on things don't let that get away. I wish my dad would have just tried.
