I doubt that you will find many runaways on the internet as they have limited access. But I can answer as a former runaway. When I was 16 I got myself into trouble. I took the consequences and understood that I would have to live with it. But the consequences kept building. And one day my dad lost his temper with me and threw me against the wall. I had a spraigned ankle already, so this did quite a bit of damage. The event was unprovoked, he just had a bad temper and was stressed out. Anyway, I made the decision to run away that evening when he went out to dinner. I didn't know where I was going to go or what I was going to do, I just wanted out of the situation. I stayed with friends for a couple of nights, then slept outside a couple of nights before finally being picked up by the police. My situation got even worse. Sometimes though, as an adolescent you feel that you have nowhere to go and nobody to turn to. The depression and hopeless feelings get to you until you just don't know what else to do.

That was 12 years ago and I have grown and changed a lot, as have my parents. But I still don't know that I had any other options at the time. Hope this helps.

yes i am a runaway, and i run where ever i can just to get away
