There is no HP Professional..I don't know where you got that. No, you can't upgrade XP Home to Pro without buying a Pro license and disc. XP Pro is *very* similar to Home..with some extra capabilities typically for a domain type environment. Most of the time, Home will work just fine.

Some accessories are not in the Home Edition, including internet connections, Professional is much faster than Home edition. Yes all your softwares and Mp3 files will surely run in Professional Professional is the latest version for the XP edition, if you buy the unit with XP Propessional, also do ask to the seller to install the updated and latest Service Pack for this, for it will help you increase your internet speed capabilities.

You would have to download the upgrade from Microsoft's website. And if you are using a dial-up net service it would take hours to install the upgrade.
