Rabbits do have anal glands and inguinal glands, both used for marking. He could have become scared and let loose his glands. Anal glands have a very foul odor.

Some rabbits just seem to smell more than others, it is a scent excreted from under their chin. I'm not sure if being fixed will help this or not.

The musk smell glands may be bumped off via a vet--the musk smell attracts different pals for their style of kin reproduction. The poop is yet another mating smell---so have the vet get rid of the ovaries--the heady scent glands and the rabbit would be extra suitable interior the domicile. this is their nature,---people might desire to placed on after shave or fragrance--and want it attracts a mate. Thank God we don't moist or poop interior the domicile.
