I'm just finished my sophomore year in highschool and looking at where I want to go to college. I really want to go to Boston U for business. I think I have about a 3.1 GPA maybe more and lost of ectra curriculars. Do I have a shot of getting in? If not where should I try?

GPA isn't everything, but it helps. If you want to bring it up, you need to do two things, take honor or AP classes (they have a higher weight), and get your grades up! Remember - at your age grade = money, both in terms of scholarship possibilities, and the keys to the college of your choice.
Next make sure you have a well rounded background.
- Use the summer to do volunteer work and earn community service hours.
- Work par time (at least for the summer)
- Participate in Sports - by the way you don't have to be the captain of the team, just be part of the team!
- Participate in school activities - Student government, Theater, any suitable committee will do.
- Keep those grades up

And in the end remember - It's not the college you go to that really makes all the difference, it's how you learn and apply the knowledge when you are done!
Good Luck

You want to go to Boston U? Then go to Boston U and talk to someone in admissions and ask them the same question you posed here. Establishing a link at your stage of the game will serve two purposes; it gives you face time with those who may ultimately make the decision on your admission, and it shows an early interest in doing things right. Finally, you'll have the exact answers to what you need to know in order to stand the best chance at admission.

Junior year GPA is more important than overall GPA. You can still get in anywhere you put your mind to, especially a mid-level college like Boston U. Even if that was your final GPA, you'd still have a good shot.

you have all of junior year to go!! dont worry you have time to bring up your GPA. If you bring your GPA up to like a 3.4 you would have a good chance. colleges do look at tons of other things. like how hard your classes were, SATs, essay, extracurriculars, and recommendations talk to your guidance counselor Im sure she could help you. make sure you have back up schools! I think you have a good shot so dont freak out!
