Bribe him with a larger tank and a lady friend, or you might try wearing clothes with pictures of fish...he might like that.

Your fish thinks you are a loser because the decorations you have in its aquarium sucks! The fish would like Aqua Gems in Dazzle Blue, a Sunken Nordic Ship, Illuminated Coral, and an Octopus! Also, please find the fish a mermaid that can help with whatever the fish wants, and an algae eater because the fish needs somebody to talk to since you are SO lame!
After you comply with these demands your fish will think you Kick ***!

Buy a sportscar and take your fish out to dinner (don't order the fish). Show ol' Charley (if he's a tuna) that you are willing to spend money. He'll now believe you are wealthy and not a loser. Although he may find that statement fishy.

Take solace in the fact that goldfish (and maybe other breeds) have an average memory of 3 seconds.
So they circle their bowl, and think, "hey look! A castle! hey look! a castle! hey look!...."
So yours is thinking, "Hey look! A castle! and a loser! hey look! A castle! and a loser!"
So for at least 2 of those 3 seconds of memory that he has, he doesn't remember that he thinks you're a loser until he rediscovers you again.

Dude, you need to go get some of that bait cheese or a brick of velveta.........that's what fish prize more than anything. It's like chocolate cake to them. Then he will do anything you want, including jump through a ring of fire just to impress you and keep getting that cheese.
