Set the rattle out on the porch or somewhere outside to dry. The rattle itself won't rot right away, but it'll get rid of the rest of the snake part.
Once it's dried out, seal it with clear nail polish.

I would just take the rest of the snake flesh off, and then either drill a tiny hole in on of the rattles, slide a string or whatever through. Never done it before but that sounds about right LOL

well try looking in the crafts section or sewing section at hobby lobby or wal mart maybe you can find something to make a neklace with there. and no killing rattlers by your door is not sick they do make babys that are hard to recognize (other that the tip of the tail is green ) my son almost stepped on one last year he would have died had he got bit!!! Try coating the rattles with something like clear nailpolish to preserve them!!!

super question! Frankly, it is largely a wager. i think of that the venom is in simple terms poisonous while it is going into the bloodstream. in case you devour a critter that has been bitten, i don't think of that the poison might harm you. The venom could be rendered innocuous because it is going interior the path of the digestive tract. although, it is largely a wager. perhaps a real herpatologist (is that a snake man or woman?) will respond with the actual tale!

You could probably put a cord through the tip. That would look nice. I hope you ate the snake. Grilled or sauteed, rattlesnake is delicious. Taste like free range chicken. No kidding. My mouth waters just thinking about it. Haven't had it since I lived in the desert.

paint it with clear nail polish, but give it about 10 coats, and every so often, add another coat or two. but just drill a hole through the tip and put a cord through it. i dont blame yall for killing the snake, it wouldve multiplied on the property and you'd have been in more trouble.

Rattle snake rattles deteriorate rapidly. seal them up in a air tight container is your best bet to preserve them.

Fear of snakes is no excuse to kill one.
I would be embarrassed and ashamed to keep the rattles.
