Yes, there is a theory that all humans are somewhere on a scale of masculine vs. feminine. This idea also pertains to sexuality, but I think you're asking a different question.

If we believe the bible, woman came from man. Then it would stand to reason that she would have a little bit of man in her. Now that man come from woman the same would be true for a man. Just a little bit; the rest is society induced. There is a different between a man and woman; a very little different.

alfie there is.
Just enough oestrogen in a man to complete him, this is the main chemical that makes up a woman. On the other hand there is just enough testosterone in a woman to complete her as a human being as well. Testosterone being the main chemical make up of the male.
Here you have a little bit of the other gender in you, and the same as your mother. She has a little bit of your gender in her as well.

There's a theory that once you get older, women exhibit more stereotypically masculine characteristics while men exhibit stereotypically feminine characteristics.

Think of the independent, domineering successful middle-aged business woman and the caring, tender old grandpa?

I do think there is a little of both in each. Human characteristics vary between cultures, but basic rooted things like protection of our young and so on, are deep rooted in our cultures. We come from both parents so I think certain things our parents do, part of their character, is imposed on us when we are young. We tend to take the strong characteristics from our parents that make us who we are when we become adults. So when you say we have a little of each, that is why I think we most certainly do! Excellent question by the way :)

I refer you to Chinese medicine, which operates on the principle that all humans have both Yin (female, receptive, intuitive, emotional) and Yang (male, proactive, operative, logic-based) principles.
Each person has their individual balance of yin and yang, regardless of gender. By having both principles in balance, one is able to adapt to any situation as needed, whether it's expressing romantic love or fighting a battle, whether figurative or literal. Without both these attributes, a person cannot function.

So yes, your statement is true.

yes, gender/sexuality does not run in a uni dimensional spectrum, it's multidimensional, imagine a quadrant made up of two intersecting lines (masculinity and femininity). Each end of the lines represent high and the other end low. So depending on each quadrant, you can have degrees of both qualities in an individual.

Yes. That's because we have the same hormones: testerone and estrogen. Men have more testerone than women, and women have more estrogen than men.

Best wishes.

Since it takes both sexes to make a child i am sure it has to do with the genes your parents give you. having traits from both parents happens often! I am sweet like my dad, but stubborn like my mom...see what i mean?

Yes, I believe that we all have tendencies of the opposite sex to certain degrees. Some more than others.
