This was so morally wrong and deceitful that I can't even talk about it. What should I do? I can't forgive myself and I live in constant fear that the one I love will find out.
I might add...it's nothing illegal or anything. I just hate myself for making such a bad mistake. I used to judge people for doing this sort of thing...

There is a lesson in all of this. People are so quick to judge the actions of others. I did it. We all do it to a certain extent (If you think you don't, you're kidding yourself) I think life has a very strange way of teaching us things. I have learned so much.

everyone is human and makes mistakes. (Now you understand the other people and wont judge anymore) forgive yourself and ask God for forgiveness and then put it behind you.

It depends...Sometimes, in times of crisis or extreme shock or pain we might do something we never considered we could do before...
Of course, this is not an excuse to go around hurting others...But I do believe that even decent human beings can -and do- fall and make mistakes they regret for a long time.
As for the judging part...We're human and imperfect. We tend to think we are better than others and tend to judge harshly....But when the tables turn and we are the ones the fingers are pointed at, the situation changes, right?
I agree that asking God to forgive you, and also looking for therapy will help you overcome the feelings of guilt or shame you might be experiencing. Good luck!

Everyone makes mistakes. I am assuming that you are very young. I'm not sure what you did but it left you feeling very guilty. I cannot answer why you went against all that you morally believe in. I have a feeling I know what you did. Realize this: there are concequences we face when we do something wrong. We reap what we sow. Let this all be a very valuable lesson to you and learn from it and never do it again. Ask God to forgive you.

Wow. So bad you couldn't share with us, but not illegal?
You've got me curious.
But, I'd have to say. The best way to vent when you can't tell anyone you know....is a therapist. Really, I mean it. Even if it's just a few visits to get this off your chest. I guarantee that if you find a good therapist, talk honestly, release all this guilt, that soon you will feel better. It may take time, but it will happen.
Forgive yourself.

Then get yourself into some counseling so you can figure out why you did something you find so despicable. Anytime you puy yourself in such jeopardy, it will find a way to harm you. You are already feeling that so do something to get yourself in a better place so you don't do it again. And in the meantime, don't do anything that will make it worse.

Do not be so hard on yourself. Anything less then murder is excuseable and you can forgive yourself and you have also learnt from your mistake which is why we make mistakes to begin with to become better people. You feel deep shame so that says inside you you are a good person. Forgive yourself and move on.
